Re: previous post that I deleted

If you want to learn about character development, then learn how to develop characters. There are tons of books and websites and methods that one can research without asking other people for their characters. It's not about dishing out credit, it's about creating and shaping your own characters. I'm not out to be a bitch, just think of me as the Simon Cowell of this workshop.

Speaking of this workshop:

Is anyone still participating? I know I didn't post this week's info, but before I rush in and lay out the next part, I want to find out if any of y'all are still writing your projects. If you're not, but want to pick it back up, great. If you just burnt out, that's fine, too.

Please take a moment to respond to this and tell me where you're at in your progresss.

I'm still interested, but I haven't written my outline yet. Not really sure how to go about that.

I haven't outline every script I've written. The ones I did outline were partner projects where my writing partner and I sat down and just brainstormed out all the events, and even then, those don't always end up looking like a standard outline.

One method that's worked the best, so far, was when we wrote out an overview/synopsis of the story in proseish format within Final Draft and then broke it into sections as we wrote. As the story changed, we'd edit the mini-story accordingly.

It really does boil down to what's best for you. Like everything else, there's a way to do it, but there's never a right way.

I haven't yet written my outline. I got distracted by other projects (which were, at least scriptwriting, so, yay), but now I'm hoping to pick this up again...

I'm trying, I really am, but it's hard to sit down and write with the Maleaness and the Faithness and the RealLifeness.

*shrug* I'll do my outline soon.

I'm definitely still participating. I have trouble with actual outlines, but I have my version of one (the Nataline) set.
